The library has an online service experience. In conjunction with the State of Texas Library Services, patrons can now reserve or renew books, research databases and search the catalog by following the link listed above. Please note, this opens up a new website and is not managed by the City of Brenham.
The library offers a variety of services for both adults and children. There are over 48,000 items to check out. This number includes books (regular and large print), tapes, CD's, DVD's, and a genealogy collection. In addition the Library subscribes to 60 magazines. Services offered include, Internet, ILC, faxing and text enlarger/reader machines. A family story night is held on the second Monday night of the month at 6:15pm.
The library offers programs for seniors at area assisted care facilities and story time for children throughout the year. Each summer, the library has a summer reading program with special programs held on Tuesdays.
Library cards are available for children five and older; a parent or legal guardian's signature is required for children up to the age of 16. A photo ID and proof of residency are also required. Library cards are free. Replacement cards are available for $2.00
There are several public access computers, with connectivity to the internet. Library patrons must register in advance to use the computers and must provide a current photo ID and have no fines or overdue items. There is a one-hour time limit, which can be extended if there are no other patrons waiting.
