Department Philosophy

The Brenham Police Department is an organization of professionals committed to the philosophy of community policing in its daily operations and functions. Community Policing is based upon a partnership between the police and the community whereby the police and the community share a responsibility for identifying, reducing, eliminating and preventing problems that impact community safety and order. By working together, the police and the community can increase the sense of well being along with lowering the incidents of crime.

Message from the Chief

I consider it an honor and a privilege to hold this office. The citizens, police personnel and City Administration have my pledge to serve with integrity, diplomacy and responsiveness.

The police department and I will have a continuous improvement philosophy, while striving to create balance between our effectiveness and efficiency.

I believe in servant leadership. The higher one rises in rank the more of a servant one comes and not the other way around.

We will keep our standards high. If we do not expect much from ourselves we will not inspire anything in anyone else.
